Essence of Ramayana captured:

When Bharata repeatedly requested and pleaded with Sri Rama to return to Ayodhya to rule and protect it, Sri Rama responded, "After finishing the required fourteen years in the forest, I will certainly return to Ayodhya. Till then you take my padukas (wooden footwear) and rule Ayodhya as my representative. I assure you that I will certainly return after the stipulated period." With this assurance Bharata and his mothers returned to Ayadhya.

A few days later, an Asura named Turanga, who had entered the eye of crow-formed Jayanta,  tried to trouble Sitadevi. Sri Rama used a blade of grass  and killed the rakshasa in the eye of the crow Jayanta who was the son of Indra. Sri Rama freed Jayanta from the predicament and sent him back to his celestial abode. Sri Rama along with Sitadevi and Lakshmana left Chitrakoota and reached the ashrama of Sage Atri. Atrimuni paid his respects and after accepting his hospitality, Sri Rama proceeded to the Dandaka forest. There he met Sharabhringa Rishi, who wanted to attain salvation by entering the fire in front of Sri Rama. Sri Rama, known for his love and as a benefactor for his devotees, blessed the aged Sharabhringa the supreme salvation.

Long ago, a Gandharva named Tumbura ainned with Urvashi and was cursed by Kubera. As a result he was born as a Rakshasa named Viradha. Sri Rama killed the trouble mongering Viradha, put his body in a cave, released Tumbura from the curse and sent him back to Gandharva Loka. Later many great Rishis came and requested Sri Rama to put an end to the group of evil doers like Ravana. Sri Rama assured them that he will soon do as they wished. Sri Rama received his own swords, bow and quiver full of arrows named Akshaya from Sage Agastya who had received them from Indra to hand over to Rama.

May this Rama protect us and absolve us from our sins.
